The 75th anniversary exhibition of Honoured Art Worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ebrahim Ehrari, an Azerbaijani artist who lives in Germany, will be organized in the Art Gallery of the Museum Centre (address: 123a Neftchiler Ave.) from 2-8 April 2013 with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The opening ceremony will take place on 2 April 2013 at 18:00. Ebrahim Ehrari was born in the city of Urmiya, Southern Azerbaijan, in 1938. He visited Europe in 1966 and took lessons in the classes of Professors Wolfgang Ludwig and Hans Förtsch in the Information Graphics and Design department of the Berlin Art Institute.
From 1973 he worked at Tehran Art University and was an associate professor in the University’s Department of Applied Arts. In 1975 he returned to Europe and studied art history in Berlin. He has been a member of Berlin’s Professional Artists’ Union since 1976. He has participated in various exhibitions since his youth and has been an active organiser of exhibitions. After the restoration of Azerbaijan’s state independence he began to cooperate with the Azerbaijan Embassy and Diaspora organizations functioning in Germany. He is one of the leaders of the Berlin-Baku Gallery founded in 2007. He was the initiator and one of the creators of the Khojaly monument erected on 30 May 2011 in the garden of the famous Gottfried-Benn library built in 1892 in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf administrative district of the German capital. He was honoured with the Zirva (peak) award of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2011.
By decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ebrahim Ehrari was awarded the honorary title Honoured Art Worker (2011). Paintings and graphics by the artist will be presented in the exhibition.
