The final exhibition of the competition ‘Baku Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, held by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism together with the Artists' Union of Azerbaijan, the Baku City Culture and Tourism Administration, the Azerbaijan State Art Gallery and the Khatai Art Centre will be organised in accordance with the presidential decree of 21.01.2013, ‘On the 90th anniversary of the national leader of the people of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev’. The exhibition will be opened in the Museum Centre (Address: 123a Neftchiler Ave.) on 10 May 2013 at 15:00.
The ‘Baku Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ competition ran from 9 October 2012 to 15 April 2013. The works entered reflect the historical past, present and future development of the state capital. The competition invited works on 12 themes and is organised with the purpose of encouraging new works of art that reflect the historical past, present and future development of the city of Baku with great artistry, that support the strengthening of the state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan and whose content inspires a patriotic spirit in the young generation. About 100 paintings, graphics and small sculptures, by about 70 artists, are displayed in the exhibition.
The exhibition will run until 17 May 2013.
