The young artist Narmin Quluzadeh is an admirer of Klimt, Monet, and Gauguin's art. Also, shevenerates the art of such Azerbaijani artist as Beyukaga Mirzazade and Sakit Mamedov and has a dream to perfect her drawing skills under the guidance of Sakit Mamedov. The art authorities have not prevented her from following her own way in her art. This way started when Narmin, a small schoolchild, crossed the threshold of the Children's Art Gallery where Aynur Gashimova taught her the nuts and bolts of the Fine Arts. The next step in her education included studies with Tatyana Kersar at the Fine Arts Studio of the Pa-lace of Children and Youth Creativity named after T. Ismayilov. During this period, Narmin's works were exhibited in joint vernissages, including those conducted in the Artists Union.
While studying at the Studio, grown-up Narmin set priorities for her own way in the Fine Arts. The first one she chose was abstract art. During years of diligent studies, the young artist defined her favorite genre and the materials she liked to use. She enjoyed working with acrylic and cold batik, specifically with warm and bright patterns and with an abundance of gilding. This is very typical for her age, for that miraculous age when life, as a rule, seems to be an eternal holiday. Nevertheless, it is clear that the reason is not only Narmin's young age, but her cheerful, open, and bright character. In all of her canvases, she opens up for the viewer from the bottom of her soul.
Mostly, she is good at landscape and still lifes created “in the imagination”. Of course, she paints landscapes and still lifes from nature, but these works are important as tools for perfecting her skills. Above all, her soul yearns for the beauty of nature, and that is why Narmin tirelessly depicts landscapes, which has no analogue in reality, and strange, almost ghostly flowers.
All of her works are born in her fantasy flights… The made up world for her is much more important that the real one. Even the horses, favorite “heroes” of Narmin's paintings, do not look like ordinary domestic animals in her works, but as those very creatures saddled only for fairy-tale princes, those wonderful animals which are not accidentally closely related to the purest of all mythical creatures – unicorns… One such canvas of Narmin's is of a romantic couple of bay horses, which can be viewed in this catalogue.
At the same time, in her works Narmin fairly often depicts extremely bright reality, that reality which people can only view in their youth. For example, the young girl's love of animals is permanently reflected in her works. Here one can see exotic Indian elephants, touching fluffy chicks, funny rabbits, and even a peacock, which is difficult not to depict decoratively in the shape of a fairy bird Humay. And Narmin could not pass up this temptation.
It should be stated that Narmin's worldview gives her the opportunity to show the audience notonly fairy countries, but also to demonstrate how good and beautiful our real world may be. In this respect, it is impossible to go by the amazing in its mood canvas named “Entrance to the Garden”. It seems as if the cozy courtyard invites the viewer to look back on the road of life and to see the same door in his/her past, his/her youth…
Of the huge number of Narmin's works, this catalogue was mainly comprised of her still lifes, especially those where flowers are depicted. Lilies, roses, hibiscuses, poppies, irises, narcissuses.
She gives bunches of them to the viewers! Perhaps, among all of her works these still lifes withflowers are filled with positive heady energy. Bouquets bloom as sprays of festive salute...If there is any genre which can compete with a still life in the struggle for Narmin's heart, this is a landscape. Bay of Baku and Icheri Shekher domes are neighbors to the Bridge of Sighs and other Italian panoramas, as well as much exotic Tahitian scenery, inspired by the admiration of Gauguin's art.
A young artist likes travelling. She has already visited the most famous museums and art galleries in the UK, France, Russia, Turkey, and other countries. She is a student at the Azerbaijan Language University; thus, travel for her is also considered a good chance to practice language. The main thing is that travel gives her new, live, and spontaneous impressions, which cannot be replaced by any movie or photo. Nevertheless, true to her principles, she does not arrange open airs abroad; she record in her memory what she has seen and then reproduces it, applying a light and colorful veil of personal attitude on this or that view depicted in tourist booklets.
First of all, this attitude is expressed in color, which is considered to be one of the important categories for Narmin. Certainly, it is difficult to define a credo for a whole life at such a young age; however, Narmin tried to do this, cleverly using one of the eternal world symbols – the rainbow. “My credo is to be the rainbow, to give people positive emotions. The red color means happiness, orange – joy, yellow-abundance, green-hope, blue – calmness, and violet-dream”. Well, the rainbow of her paintings
